Veterinarians doing chicken necropsies
Alongside colleagues from the Davis Thompson Foundation for Veterinary Pathology, Corrie Brown, Founder and Executive Director of LifeStock International, facilitated a workshop on Pathology and Diagnostics of Animal Diseases, for Nepalese veterinarians.
Educating field veterinarians
All participants received a copy of the LifeStock manual, A Field Manual for Collection and Diagnosis of Animal Diseases, which they worked through over the course of four days. Case scenarios were presented to emphasize differential diagnoses, pathogenesis, diagnosis, and control, of dangerous diseases in livestock and wildlife.
The final day
Emphasis was on field surveillance and strengthening the animal health infrastructure, all in support of improving the economy and promoting food security. Workshops were hosted by their National Agriculture and Forestry University and the Nepalese Government.
